Banana Bread Protein Balls

Banana Bread Protein Balls

Guys banana bread protein balls! These balls are the balls of my dreams!

I’m not usually one for protein balls, bliss balls or fat bombs but I’m having a hard time hitting my protein macro so this week I decided to experiment with protein balls. I’m currently going through a low meat eating phase, so the 2g from a ball helps even though it’s not a lot. And these are the perfect healthy treat to take care of my sweet tooth craving.

If you love cookie dough and banana bread you will love these balls! They are super quick and easy. Just add the recipe to your meal prep day and you’ll have a delicious snack for the week!

Ingredients:
makes 19, 15g balls —44 kcal, 2g Protein, 2.6g Carbs, 2.9g Fat / Ball

50g Organic Rolled Oats
20g Organic Coconut Flakes
1 tsp Flaxseeds/Flaxmeal*
1 tsp Maca Powder
1/4 tsp Cinnamon
1 Serving of Vanilla Protein Powder
1 Ripe Banana
1 tbsp Nut Butter of Choice (I like peanut or almond)
1 tbsp Coconut Butter (you can sub with nut butter)

Method:

  1. In a food processor or blender, blend all the dry ingredients until it’s a fine powder.

  2. Mash the banana with the nut butters.

  3. Mix in the dry ingredients until a dough is formed and it’s well combined.

    • Alternatively if you want a crunchier texture with the oats, just add all the ingredients into a food processor or blender, and blend it all at once.

  4. Using your hands, roll the dough into balls. I like make mine 15g each, about a tablespoon each ball.

  5. Store in an airtight container in the fridge for two weeks, or the freezer.

Notes:

  • I use Nuzest’s Clean Lean Protein in Smooth Vanilla

  • You can add more or less cinnamon depending on your preferences

  • *If you opt for the crunchy balls use flaxmeal instead of flaxseeds, as flaxseeds need to be ground down for your body in absorb the nutrients
